Booking terms & conditions

1. Availability & booking: Online bookings require at least 1 day's notice — same-day bookings can't be made through the website, so please get in touch directly for last-minute requests. A minimum booking length of 1 hour applies, with further time added in 30 minute increments.

2. Bookings are charged at an hourly rate clearly shown on your booking form before paying however if you book for more than 2 hours any period over 2 hours will be charged at a reduced rate. Final total hourly fee will be clearly shown before you make payment.

3. Travel charges: We allow a generous number of free miles which is included with every booking. If distance is higher than our free miles allowance a per-mile travel charge applies based on driving distance from our base in Lanarkshire. The charge is clearly shown on our booking form before you book.

4. Deposits & payment: A deposit is required to secure your date, PLEASE NOTE DEPOSITS ARE NON REFUNDABLE UNLESS CANCELLATION IS MADE AT LEAST 30 DAYS IN ADVANCE. Deposits are payable securely online by card or by bank transfer. The deposit value is clearly shown before checkout so you can be sure you are happy with your booking. You have 2 options to pay by card payment using our secure card payment gateway or bank transfer. If you opt for bank transfer the details will be shown on screen and also emailed to you so the payment is completed when convenient. Please email us to advise us you have sent a bank transfer so we can confirm your payment.

5. After deposit payment has been confirmed you can go to our booking page and click on the button check my booking. Here you will need your booking reference number and email address to retrieve your booking and then you can make a second payment. You can make as many payments as you need until your full payment is paid, there is no need to pay the remaining balance in one go.

6. Cancellations & rescheduling: We appreciate things happen in life. Please get in touch as early as possible if you need to cancel or move your booking. Deposits secure your date and time against other bookings, so cancellations within 30 days of the event will not be refundable. If for any reason you need to cancel, drop us an email or WhatsApp message and we will do our best to find a solution.

7. Event details: To ensure we prepare the right supplies, the booking form asks for the type of event, the age group and approximate mix of attendees, and the full venue address and postcode. Ensure these details are completed so we can guarantee a fun filled event.

8. On the day: Please have a suitable space ready — a shaded or indoor spot is great and enough room for a small queue works best.

9. Health & safety: Only professional, cosmetic-grade face paints are used. Please flag any known skin sensitivities or allergies in advance or on the day. We have other solutions if we find you or your child can't have face paints.

10. Insurance & conduct: Dunsters Designs holds public liability insurance and an enhanced PVG check. Unfortunately our insurance does not cover children under 3 years old. No insurance company will cover children under 3 years old due to many factors such as being restless and could easily have an accident with paints, brushes and everything we work with. At Dunsters Designs we know many adults want their young children to join in the fun so we have a disclaimer form that can be signed by the parent or guardian stating that your child is under 3 years old and you accept full responsibility for the child. We work with young children every day many with challenging needs and know how to keep young children safe while we work but accidents happen and we cannot be held accountable should an accident occur. If your child looks younger than 3 don't be upset if we ask you to sign one of our disclaimers.

11. Photography: Photos will often be taken of finished designs for portfolio and social media use. Just let us know if you'd prefer your event isn't photographed or if there is anyone present who you would prefer not to be photographed and we will ensure they have a great time with no photos.
