Hi, I'm Hayley the face behind Dunsters Designs.
I started face painting because it brings so much joy to little ones, and their reaction when they see their transformation is priceless. I’ve made many memories at many events while painting, but this by far is always my favourite part of the job.
Hi, I’m Hayley!
I’m the face behind Dunsters Designs and the person behind the paintbrush!
I live in Lanarkshire and work full-time in Glasgow as a Child Development Officer. With family spread across Dunbartonshire, Lanarkshire and Glasgow, travelling has never been a problem for me - and I’m always happy to travel to help make your special event that little bit more colourful.
Working with children has been a huge part of my life for almost 14 years. I started working with children when I was just 16, supporting children and young people with additional support needs and providing respite for their families, while studying at college to become a Child Development Officer.
For almost 8 years, I’ve worked within Early Years, supporting and caring for a wide range of children, including children with additional support needs. Over the years, this has given me so much more than professional experience - it has taught me how to connect with children, help them feel comfortable and confident, and most importantly, how much joy can come from letting their imaginations run wild.
Working with young children is also where I really discovered my creative side. I began helping with face painting at nursery events and quickly realised just how much I loved it - and, to my surprise, I was actually pretty good at it too!
That little spark encouraged me to complete face-painting training, invest in my own professional kit and take the leap into starting Dunsters Designs.
What started as something I enjoyed doing at nursery events has now grown into my very own business, and I genuinely love seeing a child look in the mirror after their face has been painted. Whether they’ve transformed into a tiger, butterfly, superhero, dinosaur or something completely from their own imagination, seeing that smile is exactly why I do what I do.
For me, face painting is about so much more than putting paint on a face. It’s about giving children a fun experience, helping them feel special and creating those little moments that they remember long after an event is over.
So whether you’re planning a birthday party, family celebration, gala day, fun day, community event or something completely different, I’d love to be part of it.
I look forward to hearing from you and hopefully helping to make your event that little bit more special…
